Since Bromley, Lewisham, and Greenwich Mind joined forces with Lambeth and Southwark Mind, we’ve embarked on an exciting journey to serve five boroughs in the South East London region. While some things have changed, our core commitment to supporting people with mental health problems and dementia remains unwavering.
Three things that have changed since we joined forces
- Five boroughs, one vision: We’re now proudly serving all five boroughs of Bromley, Greenwich, Lambeth, Lewisham and Southwark with our high-quality mental health and dementia support services.
- Opening our doors:
- 22 services increased to 29 with 7 additional services added from the former Lambeth and Southwark Mind including Black River counselling (free counselling for people of Black African or Black African-Caribbean heritage) and low-cost counselling (subsidised counselling on a pay scale) and a Lambeth directory of Community Opportunities,
- We’ve opened our Bromley-based Young Onset Dementia Activists group (YODA) to people in Lambeth and Southwark. The group, described as a ‘lifeline’ by its members, is now open to all five of the South East London boroughs that we work in.
- Our digital doors have opened to Lambeth and Southwark through our brand-new website which now lists all our services across the five boroughs and provides more resources than ever before.
- Upskilling for impact:
- Accessible Mental Health Training: We’ve made our affordable mental health training more accessible than ever before.
- Dementia Training: We’re now offering our expert dementia training across all five boroughs, equipping communities, care professionals and caregivers with essential knowledge and skills.
What hasn’t changed:
- Our commitment to quality: We remain dedicated to providing exceptional mental health and dementia support services across all five boroughs.
- Our close collaboration with Mind in Bexley: We continue to work hand-in-hand with Mind in Bexley, ensuring comprehensive mental health support throughout the region.
- Our front-line staff and services: Our on-the-ground mental health and dementia services continue to run as they did pre-merger.
Looking ahead:
We’re committed to continuous improvement and innovation.
Stay tuned for:
- New service launches: We’re always exploring ways to address emerging needs in our communities.
- Stronger partnerships: Collaborating with other organisations to expand our impact.
